School Psychology Intern- Anticipated
2025-26 School Year
Full-time, One-year only

Located a 1/2 mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, RSU #23 is a 675 student, three-school district seeking a School Psychology Intern to join our team.

Compensation: Stipend position

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
The intern candidate must be enrolled in a School Psychology graduate program pursuing a Master’s or Educational Specialist in School Psychology. Previous work in education and/or mental-health-related fields is a plus.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
-Maine Department of Education CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) https://www.maine.gov/doe/cert/fingerprinting

-Strong motivation to build skills and knowledge in the field of school psychology
-Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and meet firm deadlines
-Comfortable receiving feedback and capacity to work collaboratively as a team member
-Dependability and a strong work ethic are essential

POSITION SUMMARY:
The School Psychology Intern reports directly to the District Lead Psychologist. The individual will provide a full range of school psychological services within the district, including the following:
-Consultation with parents, teachers, other school personnel to enhance the learning of students across multiple tiers of service delivery and support
-Serve as a member of individualized education program (IEP) and Section 504 teams
-Complete evaluations and assist teams with eligibility determinations
-Collaborate with teams to develop appropriate educational programming and accommodations
-Participate in and lead professional development activities
-Participate in crisis prevention activities
-Adheres to the ethical standards and codes of the profession, and to the established rules, regulations, and laws governing special education programs.
