Job Description
RSU #14, Windham Raymond School District, is seeking candidates for a Grounds Assistant role.
Candidates must be able to work independently, communicate effectively, set priorities, have a strong mechanical aptitude, and understand soil and turf maintenance and care. The shift is a 40 hour a week position eligible for overtime when necessary and hours are generally during the day although flexibility to work some evenings, nights and weekends is a must. During the winter months the position is responsible for snow removal and hours are shifted based on the demands of the storm. The position may also have some on call time.
Candidates must hold a valid Maine Driver's License and have a clean driving record.
Job duties will include but are not limited to:
1.Participate in year-round grounds maintenance of the District’s schools and buildings
2.Follow schedule for grounds upkeep, maintenance and grounds projects in collaboration with the Grounds Coordinator
3.Keep athletic fields prepared for games (to include keeping them well watered and lined/ striped for games) and have the ability to assist with game and/or special event set up
4.Implement preventative maintenance such as aerating, over seeding, fertilizing, and application of pesticides when necessary
5.Perform basic preventative maintenance on grounds equipment
6.Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds on a repetitive basis

Job Requirements
- Must hold or be in the process of obtaining an approved Maine Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) at time of hire.
Must hold a valid Maine Driver's License. - At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
