Job Summary:

  • Assists the LifeWorks Program Manager with the operation of residential, deaf, or community service programs and participates in staff management, ensuring that all service recipients’ needs are met. Duties include:
  • Responds to urgent matters related to service recipients, employees, and the facility, in the absence of the LifeWorks Program Manager.
  • Provides hands-on assistance with daily tasks such as toileting, bathing, feeding, walking, dressing, and hygiene.
  • Assists in assuring the quality of the designated program concerning service recipient needs and satisfaction.
  • Works to ensure that all necessary certifications for facility staff are current within agency policy.

Requirements:

  • American Sign Language (ASL) experience
  • Prior work experience with persons with challenging behaviors
  • Certification and licenser as determined by program requirements
  • Valid driver’s license permitting operation of a vehicle in the State of Maine with a satisfactory driving record
  • Evidence of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
  • A criminal background check that meets Agency standards

Preferred:

  • Direct Support Professional Certification (or College of Direct Support)
  • Active CRMA, CRMA 40 Preferred
  • NAPPI or Behavioral Intervention Certification
  • Active CPR/First Aid certificate
  • One year of supervisory experience in a residential or day program setting

Qualifications

Education

Required

High School Diploma/GED or better.

Experience

Required

- American Sign Language (ASL) experience

- One year experience in a residential or day program setting

- Prior work experience with persons with challenging behaviors

Preferred

- One year supervisory experience in a residential or day program setting
