About the role

As the Digital Strategy Consultant , you will serve as a trusted member of the office of the CDO, developing and applying your analytical, interpersonal, and business management skills from day one.

  • Understand and translate corporate and business strategy into an aligned digital and product strategy
  • Take charge of identifying information sources, gathering and interpreting data, executing analysis, and synthesizing facts into solutions that drive change
  • Own structuring of ambiguous problems and go-forward recommended actions to solve them
  • Effectively communicate findings with all audiences, including senior leaders, in a structured manner
  • Deep-dive into WEX’s unique challenges, driving towards an understanding of key market opportunities, consumer expectations and experiences, and competitor benchmarking
  • Perform quarterly LOB marketplace assessments holistically covering new & emerging opportunities or threats to WEX’s current products and offerings
  • Conduct competitor deep dives across WEX LOBs, covering strategic choices, product offerings/key capabilities, and financial performance
  • Participate in strategic product development and digital strategy efforts; develop understanding of business strategy, IT product lifecycles and finance acumen around products
  • Lead digital-focused research initiatives to identify and interpret trends and patterns, highlighting areas of focus to accelerate the digital and product roadmaps
  • Explore digital-specific top emerging areas of interests (e.g., artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, machine learning, blockchain, etc.) and author external POVs on the implications for the future
  • Develop and coordinate reporting, leadership and board-level findings as it relates to digital and product strategy
  • Partner with team leadership and finance partners to communicate progress around digital strategy and associated capital funding and innovation targets

Must have

  • 5-8 years of experience in a large, cross-functional strategy function and/or consulting background
  • A solid team player who’s also an independent thinker
  • A robust analytical skill set, an endless curiosity and a penchant for thinking about “art of the possible”
  • Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis
  • A strong sense of ownership in your work
  • Deadline-driven, organized and able to multitask
  • Hunger to sprint/hustle from one project to the next, and iterate quickly
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, ability to communicate cross-functionally and to leadership level
  • Comfortable with ambiguous, ever-changing situations
  • Excited by building out an innovative, nimble, digital and product strategy in accordance with Chief Digital Office’s vision
