Job Description
: The Workforce and Community Education Coordinator plays a vital role in connecting individuals with opportunities, programs, and resources to support their career and/or personal growth.
This position involves developing and managing workforce training and community education programs for RSU 24 Adult Education. This role works collaboratively with adult education staff, regional employers, and community organizations to create programs that meet local needs. The coordinator plays a key role in building local workforce capacity and supporting lifelong learning opportunities.

Position Responsibilities
:
Develop and implement workforce training and community life programs.
Identify and recruit participants, conduct intake interviews to provide guidance in developing and implementing academic and career plans.
Establish partnerships with regional employers and industry partners to design relevant training programs.
Identify and orient instructors, plan program schedules, and arrange workforce and community education courses.
Coordinate and administer / proctor a variety of assessments and tests (CASAS, certification exams, etc…) for students with assistance from adult education staff.
Oversee marketing of programs including: advertising, social media, and course catalog production with assistance from the director and administrative assistant.
Collaborate with adult education staff to required student intake materials, records, data per state and program guidelines.
Work with director to review and update standard operating procedures for workforce and enrichment programming.
Build proficiency in software programs required by ME DOE and RSU 24 Adult Education to monitor fiscal and educational record keeping systems.
Participate in adult education professional development activities.
Serve on local, regional, and state committees/work groups as requested.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or comparable professional experience.
Excellent customer service and communication skills - oral and written.
Background in coordinating events and people, marketing, and data management.
Experience working with adult learners, especially those facing un or under-employment, and economic disadvantages.
Proficient in computer and technology skills: MS Office Suite, LMS, Google Workplace, and virtual meeting systems.
Impeccable organizational & interpersonal skills.
Passion for engaging learners in authentic learning experiences.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
Adaptability and willingness to modify job responsibilities bases on student and program needs and initiatives.
