This is a full-time position located in Augusta. Monday through Friday 8-5

-ACTING CAPACITY POSITION-

Core Responsibilities:

• Complying with the requirements of State policies, including those concerning human resource components of security protocols of agency information security and confidentiality policies for state business purposes.
• Answering the WIC front desk and respond to emails and correspondence with the public.
• Opening the mail and routing it to the appropriate place.
• Monitoring, requisitioning, purchasing, and maintaining inventory/supplies.
• Maintaining computerized and/or manual filing systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: (Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience).
Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of modern office practices to perform complex office support tasks that are similar in nature, and 2) the ability to use independent judgment in handling exceptions to established work assignments, priorities, and schedules. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Office Assistant I, and Office Assistant II.

Preferred candidates will also have:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to gather, synthesize, and summarize a variety of information
• The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external partners
• Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a supplemental nutrition program that supports WIC participants with nutrition, education and breastfeeding support. This position supports the WIC office by performing the administrative clerical duties.
