Full job description The Westbrook School Department is seeking a full time Long Term Substitute as a Special Education Teacher for a High School Resource Math position. The position will require teaching students in Math, grades 9-12, within the special education and general education settings. The position requires the ability to work with students at varying levels academically in the area of Math. The position requires experience implementing instruction, working with caseloads, and special education paperwork as needed. Substitute rates of pay are dependent upon education, experience, and certification.
Westbrook School District Special Services Department provides student-centered instruction to support the diverse learning needs of students districtwide, in grades kindergarten through high school. Our innovative and dedicated staff employ evidence based literacy and mathematics programs to promote student success. We offer programming and a variety of related services across a continuum of settings. These programs foster a learning community that supports student’s academic, social-emotional, functional, and pre-vocational needs. Westbrook High School is proud to serve the City of Westbrook. Our learners represent 27 different countries of origin and speak over 15 languages other than English. Westbrook High School offers a STEM endorsed diploma and a Visual & Performing Arts endorsed diploma. We also offer programming to prepare students for Westbrook Regional Technical Center and PATHS. Finally, we are proud to prepare students for the Seal of Bi-Literacy through our Multilingual Learner programming and our Modern and Classical Language courses. Westbrook High School has become a springboard for students to join the military, enter the workforce or go onto college through relevant and rigorous coursework and the guidance of our Aspirations Counselor and Student Services Department.
