JOB PURPOSE:
To provide medical assessment and treatment in a family physician practice located within a School-Based Health Center in Newport.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions):
- Actively participate as a member of the Medical Staff.
- Attend to patients promptly to minimize wait times.
- Thoroughly and promptly complete all patient records with appropriate documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: A medical degree in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
- Experience: Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
- Training: Ongoing education to maintain licensure, enhance community health, and provide excellent patient care to a diverse population.
- Licensure: Must be a licensed physician in the State of Maine or eligible for licensure before beginning practice.
JOB COMPETENCIES (Including Age-Specific Requirements for Clinical Workers):
- Willingness and ability to lead medical staff committees or initiatives.
- Strong patient focus.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Capacity to deal with trauma situations and death.
- Ability to make difficult decisions.
- Strong aptitude for accurately calculating medication doses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Training: Continuing education to maintain licensure and to enhance the health of the community and to provide excellent patient care to a full spectrum of constituents.
Licensure: Must be a licensed physician in the State of Maine or be eligible for licensure before beginning practice.
