Essential Job Functions

  • Confident in all skills related to concrete placement and finishing, formwork, carpentry, and rebar placement
  • Experienced with Layout, building forms according to plans
  • Experienced with plan reading and interpretation
  • Experienced with bond-out and embed layout
  • Must be a self-starter, motivated, able to communicate and direct laborers – teaching them by example, how to become carpenters
  • Must have initiative; recognize what needs to be done- and execute tasks independently while directing the team
  • Comprehend and interpret direction/instructions to plan and execute daily tasks with little supervision
  • Work well with Superintendent and Foreman
  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions, work independently while exercising appropriate judgement
  • Exhibit awareness, ability to concentrate, memorize and recall instructions, and numbers
  • Load, unload and identify materials, machinery, and tools then distribute appropriately and in accordance with project specifications and instructions of team lead, foremen or superintendent
  • Stack materials and properly store in designated areas
  • Communicate with team for safe and efficient execution of project
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
  • Clean tools, equipment, machinery, and work areas

Physical Demands

  • Must regularly lift and move 50 – 80 pounds
  • Employee must be able to work in extreme weather conditions both hot and cold temperatures
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
  • Employees must always adhere to OSHA safety rules and regulations, and wear OSHA compliant safety gear while on jobsite
  • Daily requirement of continuous walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, and carrying 50–80-pound items
  • Employee must be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands


  • Work is all over the state of Maine, however, primarily in the Southern Maine region. Headquarters is in Scarborough, Maine
