Custodian (Evening)

Evening Custodian, – Fairmount School
2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

• Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• Basic building maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, ground maintenance and painting
• Work with effectively and harmoniously with other staff and students
• Physical ability to lift independently heavy objects weighing up to 70 pounds, able to climb to the height of any Bangor School building
• Ability to handle hazardous materials in a safe manor
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable
• Preferred:
• Experience as a school custodian, or the equivalent in custodial service in other institutions and firms is desirable
• Physical Qualifications:
• Visual acuity to include color, depth perception & field of vision with/without correction
• Sufficient auditory function to hear phones, pager, instrument and/or system alarms
• Ability to communicate verbally with others - including phone equipment
• Manual dexterity in the operation of a computer
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to complete repetitive motions - including bending, stooping, reaching, and walking
• Moderate lifting - up to 50 pounds occasionally, with regular lifting of 10-20 pounds
