Requirements:
  • Previous experience in customer services or event management is a plus
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to operate handheld device such as ipad, two-way radio, etc
  • Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, extended (long) work days and extended numbers of days in a row
  • Work effectively in a service oriented environment, which is subject to frequently changing priorities
Reports to: The Athletic Administrator and the department of athletics who provides overall objectives, direction, and final evaluation.
Description: Under general direction from the Athletics Facility and Events staff, this position assists with and performs duties needed for the execution of athletic & activities events. Work may be intermittent throughout the year based on the schedule of events and staffing needs.
Duties:
  1. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other event staff
  2. Provide daily operational support for the Athletics & Student Activities Department
  3. Perform event set ups and breakdowns
  4. Assist in event parking operations
  5. Potentially serve in various support roles for athletic & activities events – scoreboard operator, usher, security attendant, ticket taker, ticket seller, ticket scanner.
