Engineering & Architectural Design Instructor

Sanford Regional Technical Center (SRTC) - Sanford, Maine

We Need You! The Next Generation of Engineers and Architects Awaits! SRTC is seeking a passionate, forward-thinking educator to lead our Engineering & Architectural Design Program (Engineering & Architectural Design - CIP 15.1303). This rewarding full-time position begins August 26, 2025, spanning 178 days through June 2026.

Grow Something Extraordinary: In this dynamic two-year program, students dive into Southern Maine's thriving engineering and architectural design industry – from innovative 3D printing applications and advanced computer-aided design to cutting-edge virtual reality modeling and additive manufacturing. You'll guide them in mastering industry-standard software and technologies while developing highly marketable skills in 3D modeling, architectural visualization, reverse engineering, and digital fabrication that are increasingly in demand across our region and beyond.

Year 1 immerses students in transformative hands-on projects at our state-of-the-art facilities, where they'll master 2D & 3D computer design using professional software, blueprint creation, 3D printing operations, and develop comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and architectural concepts. You'll facilitate partnerships with local engineering firms, architectural studios, manufacturing companies, and technology businesses to provide students with immersive, real-world experience in everything from basic design concepts to complex engineering simulations.

Year 2 challenges students to tackle advanced design projects, collaborate with successful industry professionals, and earn valuable international certifications – including SolidWorks Professional, Revit Architecture, and Additive Manufacturing certifications. Under your guidance, they'll gain sophisticated skills in specialized design applications, deepen their understanding of engineering principles, and learn strategies to manage complex projects from conception to completion. Your students will graduate with authentic work experience, technical proficiency, and the comprehensive skills to thrive in Maine's engineering and architectural sectors – whether joining established firms, launching their own design businesses, or pursuing advanced education.

As the program instructor, you'll create an engaging, safe learning environment that inspires student excellence while effectively delivering curriculum centered on advanced 3D modeling, additive manufacturing, architectural design, and engineering principles. Your passion for working with young people, combined with your expertise in engineering and architectural design, will position students for exceptional opportunities. You'll collaborate with other innovative SRTC programs for interdisciplinary learning experiences while leveraging opportunities for real-world projects from within and outside the Center.

SRTC serves over 670 motivated students from eight diverse sending schools across southern Maine: Kennebunk, Marshwood, Massabesic, Noble, Sanford, Traip Academy, Wells, and York.
