KidsPeace National Centers of New England has immediate openings for Full-Time and Part-Time K-12 Day Treatment Ed Techs to work at its school located in Old Town, ME. KidsPeace Day Treatment programs support Kindergarten – 12th grade students, with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), that are in need of a highly structured therapeutic educational environment. Our day treatment programs provide individualized instruction, mental health, behavioral health and rehabilitative services, as well as communication and social skills training and to help assist students in developing essential skills to safely and successfully transition back to their public school.

Primary Responsibilities:
Working one on one or with small groups students
Assists with classroom behavioral management strategies allowing students to take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources.
Supporting students by implementing strategies and interventions outlined within their individualized education plans (IEP) and behavior plans
Provide support and direct teaching to students to support them with developing communication, self-help, and social skills.
Accurate and timely completion of required documentation (e.g. data collection, progress notes, and incident reports).
Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and classroom management functions.
Review material previously introduced by classroom teacher under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher to reinforce prior learning
Introduce new learning preplanned in consultation with the classroom teacher or appropriate content specialist.
High school diploma or GED required
Must be eligible for, or have, a current State of Maine Educational Technical Certification and Criminal History Records Check
Must pass all clearances as required by the Department of Education, DHHS, and OCFS.
Experience working with youth ages 5 to 22 with diagnosis of autism and/or other behavioral issues preferred.
A positive attitude, willingness to learn new skills and a high energy level
K-12 Day Treatment Ed Tech Positions start at $16.00/hour; increased based on education and experience
**SIGN-ON BONUS: $1,500 for part-time employees, $3,000 for full-time employees!**
