Our client, a commercial construction services company is Southern Maine is seeking an experiences Commercial Painting Superintendent to lead one of their crews.
This Superintendent will determine sequences of painting operations and methods to be used and inspect work to be completed in compliance with blueprints, specifications, and instruction in order to maintain project schedule and project budget.
Requirements of the Painting Superintendent:
  • 3+ years of commercial painting experience
  • Ability to go to job site and arrive before the crew
  • Valid Maine Driver's License
  • Knowledge of standard commercial painting application methods and practices of paints, varnishes, lacquers, urethanes, enamels, epoxies, paint removers and their properties
  • Effective supervisory and leadership practices
  • Experience working with customers and other contractors in a professional manner.
  • Experience completing projects on time and on budget
  • Experience with different types of staging, scaffolding, ladders and man/boom lifts and the safety requirements of each
  • OSHA 10 & 30 Ideal
  • Rules, laws, ordinances, and codes relevant to the construction/painting industry
  • Perform heavy physical labor
  • Ability to haul trailers and move equipment as necessary for job site coordination and work.

Responsibilities of the Painting Superintendent
  • Promote a safety-first attitude among all employees
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workshop within the job site.
  • Training, educating, coaching, motivating and leading employees to ensure the project operates at the highest level of safety, morale and productivity.
  • Adapt to changing work priorities/working environments; communicating with diverse groups; setting priorities; building collaborative relationships; decision making; meeting schedules and delaines; working with frequent interruptions; and complying with OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking
  • Flexibility to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances
  • Problem solves, analyzes issues, and creates and executes action plans necessary to successfully complete work safely, on-time and on budget.
  • Proactively forecast work in the most productive manner.
  • Strong sequencing ability and strong decision-making initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with superiors and subordinates and understand and execute oral and written instructions and to interpret plans and specifications.
Along with competitive hourly pay, compensation also includes quarterly bonuses based on successful job completion. This also includes medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and 401k with company match.

Superintendents also get a company truck, gas card, phone and iPad.

This will be a Monday-Friday work schedule with some Saturdays.
