The Treatment Team Supervisor is the focal point for coordination of unit programming and documentation. The Treatment Team Supervisor assists in the responsibility for the overall functioning of a residential or diagnostic unit in loco parentis duties. Directly supervises and mentors Direct Care Technicians. The incumbent will assume supervisory responsibility in the absence of the Assistant Director of Residential Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS/BA degree in Psychology, Social Services, Child Development, Behavior Management, or other related discipline required.
Two years experience working with behaviorally challenged children (preferably in a residential setting), including at least one year in a supervisory role or the equivalent in education plus experience.
Demonstrated ability for evaluation, problem-solving, planning, organization, and supervision.
Experience working closely with families of clients.
Understanding of mental health diagnoses including autism spectrum disorders preferred.
JOB DUTIES:
Safety: Ensure a safe and secure environment. Act immediately to remove all dangers or threats to the welfare of kids.
Supervision: Supervise children and staff members. Oversee daily routines; know the whereabouts of all children in incumbents care. Provide minor first aid treatment as necessary.
Counseling: Provide individual counseling as well as facilitate therapeutic groups.
Crisis Intervention: Fully perform restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
Treatment Planning and Assessment: Participate in the planning and implementation of individualized treatment plans as well as daily treatment schedules in accordance with House/Module programming.
Communication: Communicate all relevant client information obtained by daily supervision to appropriate treatment team members on a timely basis.
Coaching: Train, coach, counsel, appraise and professionally develop staff members to perform at higher levels and/or exercise broader responsibilities.
