JOB DESCRIPTION
This is administrative services work in planning, coordination and directing the purchase, storage and issue of resident technology at Maine State Prison in Warren, Maine. Work includes planning, coordinating and implementing stores and materials programs, guidelines and procedures, maintaining cost and inventory controls, assisting with budget development, and scheduling work.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Order, receive, store, issue, control, and safeguard education computers, peripherals, and software.
· Oversee and direct the receipt, storage, and issue of education computers, peripherals, and materials to ensure availability of required items.
· Assist in monitoring and inspecting equipment throughout the facility to include education computers, peripherals, servers, and education network equipment.
· Assist in performing audits of education computers to assess appropriate use by residents.
· Assist in compiling and maintaining resident Computer Use Agreements and other documentation required for resident computer access.
· Maintain knowledge and competencies in software and tools required to complete job duties.
· Collaborate on department-wide initiatives related to resident technology.
· Supervise a resident work crew.
· Manage computers and server systems.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
- Knowledge of computer/server systems and their management.
- Knowledge of facility security regulations and operating procedures.
- Ability to order, receive, store, issue, control, and safeguard education computers, peripherals, and software.
- Ability to establish and maintain an inventory control system.
- Ability to use departmental resources to research resident requests and respond accordingly.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgement as related to potential resident computer misuse.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both facility administration and Central Office staff.
- Ability to supervise and direct Resident Technology Workers.
- Ability to document and maintain required records.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or experience providing knowledge of property procurement, correctional operations, administrative procedures, and accountability.
