Maine Veterans’ Homes is a mission-driven, independent nonprofit organization, with six nursing homes throughout Maine. We are dedicated to serving Maine’s Veterans and families and take great pride in our mission to 'care for those who served'.
We are seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the environmental care and services of the Home. The Facilities Manager ensures uninterrupted and efficient mechanical operation and optimum maintenance in order to provide a safe, functional, sanitary and comfortable environment for the residents, employees and the public, and ensures building and grounds compliance with all federal and state regulations.
Requirements
- A minimum of four years of experience in general maintenance and repair work, providing a basic knowledge of carpentry, masonry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, grounds keeping, custodial functions.
- Experience with operation, repair and preventive maintenance on boilers, heating and ventilation systems, fire alarm systems, and emergency and suppression systems.
- Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.
- Previous supervisory experience/training required.Must possess a valid State of Maine driver’s license in good standing.
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Requires proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English is required.
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required.
- Basic computer skills
