Summary:

The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Environmental Services Department. Which includes all areas of the hospital, Health Centers and call areas assigned. This role ensures that all areas are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition. The supervisor will lead a team of environmental services staff, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Cognitive Requirements:

  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple requests.
  • Must be emotionally mature in order to handle stressful situations.
  • Must be resourceful, flexible and possess diversified communications skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time operating machines.
  • Able to lift, pull and push equipment; stooping and reaching required.
  • Able to lift and carry objects up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to sit at desk for long periods of time.

Environment:

  • Able to withstand periods of hot and cold temperatures under different ambient conditions.
  • Needs to anticipate some exposure to fumes from various chemicals.
  • Possible exposure to hazardous body fluids.
