Full job description

We are looking for an experienced, energetic RN Nurse Manager. This position is an integral part of our care management team, supporting our very special Veteran residents on the Skilled/Transitional Care Unit.

RN Nurse Manager Responsibilities (not exhaustive):

  • Ensuring delivery of quality nursing care to each resident by coordinating a meaningful interdisciplinary Plan of Care
  • Overseeing the medication process to include review of proper procedures and accountability
  • Ensuring all nursing and medical records properly document the quality of care in order to meet state, federal and VA regulations
  • Maintaining adequate staffing
  • Investigating unit incident reports accurately, and with timely resolve
  • Communicating unit needs clearly to the DNS, making written and oral reports/recommendations as needed
  • Supervising nurses and direct care staff in a fair and consistent manner, including training, performance review and counseling

Experience and Skills

  • Valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse License, authorized to work in the State of Maine
  • A combination of 3-5 years training and experience in post-acute care/rehabilitation
  • Prior supervisory experience in a long term care facility highly desirable
