Aerospace Sheet Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship

PK Floats is currently seeking applications for their Aerospace Sheet Metal Fabricator registered apprenticeship program at their location in Lincoln, Maine. 

This can be a year-round, full-time position in which apprentices are paid employees of PK Floats -- little/no related experience required. This would be a great on-the-job learning opportunity for students who are looking for meaningful, hands-on work. In completing an apprenticeship, the apprentice will receive incremental wage increases as their skills increase and a state-recognized credential of value that is transferable, stackable, valid for life, and recognized nationally. 

Program outline: Apprentices will learn on the job over the course of 2,000 hours in a specially designed training program at PK Floats. Apprentices will also receive supplemental in-house classroom instruction provided by PK Floats. 

Location: Lincoln, ME

Minimum qualifications for acceptance – Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be able to stand continuously, lift objects up to 40 lbs., withstand repetitive motion (particularly with shoulders), and work in a loud/noisy environment.
• Applicants must also take an Entrance exam that tests reasoning ability and general knowledge of numbers, dimensions, and geometry.
