Hometown Health Center (HHC) is seeking a dedicated and organized Practice Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Newport office. This full-time role is ideal for a professional with healthcare management experience who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. As a key member of our leadership team, you’ll ensure the smooth delivery of care by supervising staff, optimizing provider schedules and supporting quality initiatives—all while fostering a positive, patient-centered culture.

About the Opportunity
As Practice Coordinator, you’ll oversee both administrative and clinical services at our Newport location. Working closely with leadership, you’ll supervise staff, manage scheduling and site operations and help implement key quality and compliance initiatives. Your ability to communicate effectively, lead by example and manage priorities will be critical to supporting HHC’s mission and ensuring patients receive the care they deserve.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the Newport site, ensuring a smooth, efficient workflow
- Collaborate with leadership to address operational challenges and implement improvements
- Directly supervise onsite staff, including scheduling coverage for time off and absences
- Ensure provider schedules align with benchmarks and patient access needs
- Participate in hiring, onboarding and performance management of site staff
- Support EMR training and compliance
- Assist with quality initiatives including UDS, PCMH, ACO and MaineCare programs
- Investigate incidents or patient complaints in collaboration with risk management
- Ensure staff are trained on and compliant with all applicable HHC policies and HRSA requirements
What You’ll Need
- At least 3 years of progressively responsible management-level experience in healthcare or a closely related field
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Strong communication and team-building skills
