Position Title: Residence Director

 

Salary Range and Timeline:

Salary and benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the Maine Community College System and the MEA Administrators Bargaining Unit; level 1, mid-point salary of $43,559.93. In addition, the cost of lodging is covered by the College. The anticipated start date for the position is May 1st.

 

Responsibilities:

The Residence Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of Residential Life. This position is responsible for the oversight of 50 students in a designated off campus residential site and corresponding operations. This will require living on site.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Perform administrative functions including oversight of application process; manage all aspects of lodging (residential occupancy) including move-in, move-out, room assignments and changes to room status; coordinate all aspects of student activities and events, shuttle schedule and safety & security needs.
  • Planning & implementing engagement and community events and activities that occur on campus and in the lodging space.
  • Serve as the resource for students in need; monitor students of concern; provide navigation for referral to other appropriate services; adjudicate minor violations of student residential life in collaboration with the Dean of Student Affairs.
  • Assist with academic advising and campus tours during the summer months.  Participate in new student orientation/onboarding; planning and implementation of parent/student orientation event and Parent Weekend program.

 

Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience working with students in post-secondary education is required. The successful candidate will have experience in residential life, knowledge of student engagement & programming, a current driver's license, strong interpersonal, organization, written and verbal communication.
