Remote/Hybrid Work Flexibility 

This position offers hybrid remote work flexibility within Maine (minimum 2 in-office days per week). Fully remote work opportunities will be considered for residents of one of the following states: NJ, IN, NC, SC, IA, GA, and FL.


The Position 

The Group Manager of Fund Accounting will have overall responsibility for the morale, cohesion, productivity, processes, and work product of the group. Accordingly, the group manager has full responsibility for the following:

  • Manage, develop, and motivate staff in the group 
  • Foster harmonious relationships within the group, with colleagues outside the group and throughout the company, and with clients
  • Design procedures and processes and ensure that they are performed within the group, and are performed in accordance with department and firm-wide standards and protocols
  • Oversee the timeliness and quality of services delivered by the group to meet the goal of internal and external client satisfaction
  • Act as an effective conduit for communication and point of escalation within the group, and between the group and others—both internally and externally 

Qualifications and Experience 

The ideal candidate has the following:

  • Have three or more years of experience in fund accounting for hedge funds
  • Be comfortable and proficient acting as a primary liaison with fund managers and other fund service providers. 
  • Must have familiarity with the types of software tools used by investment operations companies, including fund accounting and investor accounting systems and reporting from those systems.  
  • Must have experience with financial reporting, information security and client, vendor, and risk management.  Candidates will have maturity and judgment.  
  • Have knowledge of securities and stock markets
  • Experience in investment operations
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and strong writing skills. 
  • Must have experience developing and maintaining positive relationships with coworkers, clients and business partners.   
  • Hedge funds can hold complex instruments, so the ability to quickly learn and understand complicated concepts is a necessity. Must have the ability and motivation to self-train in order to stay current with the regulatory environment Stone Coast is subject.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is essential.  In depth experience with Advent Geneva and Advent Partner is required.
