Job Summary:
Perform complex accounting activities including reconciliations, analysis, and financial reporting.
Essential Functions:
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Supervise the activities and performance of associates, including interviewing of job applicants, hiring and training, assignment and monitoring of work, payroll time approval, coaching, motivating associates, preparation of performance reviews, counseling, discipline, and termination as required.
• Analyze financial data and prepare complex financial reports, financial models, and budget variance analysis to support the decision-making process of senior management.
• Aid with the development and monitoring of the company's budget, forecasting revenue and expenses, and recommending adjustments as needed.
• Analyze the general ledger, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and reconciled with subsidiary ledgers, and work with other departments to ensure accurate recording and allocation of expenses.
• Assist with/review various tax calculations (sales, use, income, and other), ensuring that the company is in compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
• Manage the internal and external audit process, ensuring that all financial records are accurate and available for review, and work with other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial systems used by the company, ensuring they are up to date and meeting the needs of the organization, suggesting improvements where necessary.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders, such as department heads and executives, as well as external stakeholders, such as vendors and clients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Basic Knowledge:
• A deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, financial analysis and reporting, and tax laws and regulations equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced Excel skills also required.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer
• Typing and using a computer keyboard for extended periods
• Answering phone calls and communicating with customers via email
Mental Requirements:
• Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time, paying close attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time effectively
Environmental Requirements:
• Working indoors in a typical office environment
• Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers
• Interaction with team members and possibly occasional interactions with customers in person, via phone, or email
Certification Requirement:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) a plus but not required
Supervisor Responsibilities:
Train accounting staff, providing guidance and mentoring to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting as needed. Work requires a minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience specifically with tax regulations, financial systems, and data query.
