ProSearch is proud to partner with Good Shepherd Food Bank in their search for a Director of Marketing & Communications, a key leadership role dedicated to amplifying the fight against hunger in Maine.

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives that enhance fundraising and donor engagement.
  • Be a key spokesperson for Good Shepherd Food Bank, engaging with media and the public to advocate for food security.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated leadership team to drive key organizational initiatives forward.
Responsibilities:
Lead & Inspire a High-Performing Team
  • Develop, mentor, and empower a strong marketing and communications team.
  • Work closely with executive leadership on strategy, budgeting, and goal setting.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and creativity.
  • Oversee internal communications to align messaging and engagement across all staff.
Strengthen the Food Bank’s Brand & Public Presence
  • Serve as the primary media contact, managing press outreach, media events, and crisis communications.
  • Lead a multi-year statewide public awareness campaign to reshape perceptions of hunger in Maine.
  • Oversee branding, storytelling, and content creation to ensure a compelling, consistent public message.
  • Manage the organization’s website, social media strategy, and marketing channels.
Drive Fundraising & Advocacy Efforts
  • Work with the Development team to align marketing strategies with donor engagement and fundraising goals.
  • Create compelling fundraising appeals, donor materials, and event marketing.
  • Develop advocacy messaging and public policy communications to support legislative priorities.
Enhance Program Visibility & Impact
  • Work with program managers to develop marketing materials that highlight key initiatives.
  • Ensure all program-related communications align with the organization’s overall messaging strategy.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts, using data to refine future strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of marketing, communications, public relations, or fundraising experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in media relations, brand management, and digital marketing.
  • Proven experience managing teams and external vendors.
  • Ability to develop and execute data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A passion for social impact and nonprofit work.
