Are you looking for a place where you can make a meaningful impact on the lives of our community members? Greater Portland Health seeks a dynamic individual to join us as a Peer Support Specialist. The PSS uses motivational interviewing techniques to meet patients where they are and help develop patient-centered goals leading to successful changes in daily living behaviors and better engagement in the services and treatment options that are available.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent General Education Degree (GED) is required
  • Experience with alcohol / other drug (AOD) addiction recovery process is required
  • Certification in Intentional Peer Support preferred.
  • Trained/Experienced in facilitating self-help groups such as SMART Recovery, 12 Step Support, Narcotics Anonymous (NA), etc. preferred.
