Work with individuals with acquired brain injuries using various educational and rehabilitation activities to improve communication and cognitive functioning. Some job functions include the following:

  • Works with individuals with acquired brain injuries using various educational and rehabilitation activities to improve communication and cognitive functioning.
  • Conducts individual and group speech and language therapy sessions.
  • Selects/administers assessment and evaluation instruments to determine service recipients’ capabilities and barriers in receptive and expressive language, voice, cognition, articulation, communication, and swallowing.
  • Prepares findings, diagnostic impressions, diagnosis, and recommendations.
  • Presents written and verbal information to team members, service recipients, family members, payors, and other stakeholders in an understandable and helpful manner.
  • Designs and implements individualized person-centered therapeutic rehabilitation programs to help overcome barriers and enhance independence and quality of life.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice Speech Pathology in the State of Maine
  • A Valid driver’s license
  • A Criminal background check that meets Agency standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year experience in speech pathology
  • Experience or certified in VitalStim Swallowing Therapy
  • Experience in neurological rehabilitation
