Research & Data Management Intern

The Jackson Laboratory (JAX), a nonprofit biomedical research organization, is looking for summer interns to join its Advancement Operations team. Over the course of 8-10 weeks, you'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced prospect research and advancement service professionals about how to conduct prospect research to expand fundraising capacity. In addition, you'll gain an understanding of the sophisticated correlation between data management and analytics and strategic decision-making.

About Your JAX Internship Experience

Join peers selected from educational institutions across the country for a summer of professional growth and career exploration. As a JAX Intern, you will receive a dedicated mentor in your department and connect with your fellow interns through JAX-sponsored activities.

The start date for this position is by June 3, 2024.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Advancement Operations team with priority data management and enhancement projects.
• Provide program support in the areas of donor relations and engagement, prospect research, and data and gift management.

Desired Qualifications

JAX encourages applications from a diverse mix of educational backgrounds and experiences. Preferred qualifications include:

• Must currently be enrolled at an accredited institution
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in business or a related field
• Comfort working with online resources and learning new applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook. Advanced Excel expertise is preferred.
• Detail-orientated, dedicated to accuracy, and tolerance for repetitive work.
• Experience working effectively independently to contribute to team success.
• Self-motivated, naturally curious and enthusiastic to learn.
• A high degree of confidentiality is expected.
