The Education Tech / BHP has the role of overseeing the day-to-day management of the individual shifts, mainly in the education setting. As a Education Tech / BHP, the expectation remains the same as a BHP Residential in terms of providing intensive supervision and direction to emotionally and behaviorally challenged clients in a compassionate and respectful manner. The position requires an unwavering commitment to safety and the ability to continuously assess and manage the ongoing developments and concerns of the clients in our care. The Education Tech / BHP is responsible to implement individualized treatment and milieu programming, in the context of trusting and supportive relationships with clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma with under 60 college credits will be considered Ed Tech 1 / BHP 1. At least 60 college credits will be Ed Tech 2 / BHP 2. 90, or more, college credits will be Ed Tech 3 / BHP 3.
Must be willing to be put on a substitute list for shifts at the school.
If working in ASD program, experience serving ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders) population is preferred.
Two years of college in Psychology, Social Work, Child Development or related field plus one year of experience working with clients in a residential program or related field OR High School diploma plus two years’ experience working with clients in a residential program or related field.
Ed Tech Certification with the DOE minimum.
JOB DUTIES:
Collaboration: Demonstrate continued active participation in at least one KP workgroup, task force, provide trainings, etc; attend, participate and lead, as necessary, program leadership
Communication: Communicate all relevant client information obtained by daily supervision to appropriate treatment team members on a timely basis; provide quality customer service with families, licensing bodies, and outside agencies; effectively demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills across disciplines.
Treatment planning and assessment: Participate in the planning and implementation of individualized treatment plans as well as daily treatment schedules in accordance with House/Module programming.
Supervision: Supervise clients. Oversee daily routines; know the whereabouts of all clients in care; ensure performance of daily self care tasks and assist clients as needed. Provide minor first aid treatment as necessary.
All other duties as assigned by management.
