The Norway Memorial Library, municipal library for the town of Norway, Maine, is seeking applicants for a part-time Teen Services Coordinator and Library Aide. This role is responsible for designing and delivering a dynamic teen services program including planning and leading events and activities for teens, as well as building collaborative partnerships with local youth service providers. The position also includes working at public service desks processing loans, assisting library patrons with finding materials and information, and assisting patrons with computer and printing needs.
Strong familiarity with the recreational and educational needs of teens, as well as good judgment, tact, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are a must. Work experience in teen programming and public services is highly preferred.
The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, knowledge of popular culture and teen literature, strong technology, communication, and customer service skills, and be able to complete tasks that require strong attention to detail and accuracy.
This position is 17-20 hours per week and includes Saturday and evening hours. The starting rate of pay is $22.00 per hour. Compensation includes paid time off using an earned time system.
