Position is located:Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital

Work Type: Full Time

Hours Per Week: 40.00

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

*Sign on bonus eligible*

Summary:

Cleans and services assigned building areas; moves furniture, equipment, hospital waste, and supplies in and around assigned areas. Works to ensure the Hospital is clean and safe for patients, visitors and other employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Dustmops, mops, buffs floors. Runs buffers, wet vacuums, and automatic floor scrubbers. May be asked to strip and wax a floor as needed.
  • Runs vacuums and carpet equipment. Must be able to shampoo carpet and operate shampooers effectively, as needed on occasion.
  • Washes walls, windows, light fixtures, and vents, using necessary tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to work with germicidal and other cleaning detergents.
  • Changes cubicle and window curtains.
  • Moves furniture as required.
  • Gathers trash, recyclables, bio-medical waste, and dirty linens.
  • Must be able to pull trash out of large trash cans, load trash carts and dumpsters, and push carts long distances.
  • Does Courier runs to downtown vendors or to outlying towns, as needed
  • Sets up Conference Rooms for meetings, or outside events, as needed
  • Must be able and willing to clean isolation rooms according to established guidelines.
  • Must be able to follow established safety methods and procedures as outlined in organizational and department policies.
  • Will assist keeping the grounds neat and clean.
  • Must be able to organize the day with assignment and requested demands as needed.
  • Must be able and willing to cover in other roles as needed, such as Solid Waste, Housekeeping
  • Must possess good customer service skills.
  • Must hold the ability to work as a team member to perform duties or projects that may take from the routine custodial work.
  • Must be able to endure temperatures to be in and out during the winter months and inclement weather to care for exterior of entrances and such, and dress accordingly.
  • Must be able to clean and store patient equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to set up and operate the UV machine as needed.

Other Information:

  • Must be willing to work rotation weekends, holidays, and assist in other departments as needs call for; Laundry, Food Service, Maintenance
