Social Work/Clinical Counselor - SMHC
The Social Worker/Clinical Counselor has comprehensive clinical responsibility for the patients assigned to him/her. These clinical duties shall be directed toward the achievement of excellence in patient care and will include: conducting and documenting individual and family psychosocial assessments; documenting the findings of evaluations and progress in patients' medical record; maintaining contact with community resources for after care and providing comprehensive discharge planning services. All services will be provided in a manner and language appropriate to the age and comprehensive level of the patients and their families. All Social Worker/Clinical Counselors are expected to function as active members of the interdisciplinary teams. This position will cover both at Spring Harbor Hospital and Southern Maine Healthcare.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Bachelors from an accredited school of social work or equivalent training. Maine State Licensure to practice as a LCSW, LCSW-cc or LCPC required.
2+ years of experience working with specific client population to which this position is primarily assigned
2+ years prior experience working with a broad spectrum of mentally ill clients is required
Prior experience with clinical methods and techniques used in individual, family and group therapy as related to mental health and/or substance abuse issues is required
