General Summary:

The Program Manager is responsible for partnering across several concurrent high visibility projects or programs using Agile methods in a fast-paced environment that cross a significant (e.g. 6+) number of parallel activities across business and technical departments. The Program Manager should have both classic and Agile IT project management experience and be able to leverage the two disciplines as appropriate. They are expected to perform at a high level leading strategic, cross-functional and/or cross-company, business facing and technical initiatives and have proven track records of being solution and delivery focused.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a role model for PM professionalism, critical thinking and setting productivity pace as well as promoting a financial focus and emphasis on business value metrics
  • Highly collaborative, energetic team player with demonstrated ability to be flexible, diplomatic, persistent, and energetic. Comfortable with ambiguity, open to change, working in a fast-paced and fluid environment. Ability to navigate and be successful in both “start-up” and established, larger company environments.
  • Provide leadership, direction and integrate activities with other teams to ensure successful implementation and support.
  • Identify, propose, and initiate software process improvement activities within the organization, devising solutions.
  • Take action to exploit opportunities that will have a measurable effect on operational effectiveness, with associated benefits to the business.
  • Provide visibility for and coordinate dependencies that cross teams (within and outside of assigned capability).
  • Participate in intradepartmental and cross departmental planning and collaboration as needed.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with counterparts in other business and technology organizations to ensure our program deliverables align with broader Technology & Operations organization and its business and technology programs.
  • Engage appropriate business partners/program stakeholders in program development efforts
  • Resolve conflicts and pursue solutions that all parties can support while furthering the goals of the organization.
  • Coordinate activities for multiple business and technology functional groups to ensure program success.
  • Responsible for managing, tracking and reporting, both written and verbal program updates
  • Collaborates with scrum masters, scrum of scrums or otherwise, where necessary to determine progress of feature delivery against plans within the program and helps to removes impediments at the program level when necessary

Job Specifications

  • Bachelors degree required, or relevant professional qualification or acceptable industry experience.
  • Advanced understanding of and experience with Product Development Lifecycle, as well as advanced program management skills.
  • Impeccable communication and cross-team coordination skills. Solid oral, written, presentation as well as strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proven track record managing complex, multi-year, $1M+ programs
  • Proven ability to create a variety of documents, process maps, dashboards and presentations suitable for technical, business, and executive audiences using a variety of tools.
  • Demonstrated program management, communication, and leadership skills on large initiatives ($1M+)
  • Project/Program Management Certifications like PMP, Prince2, CSM, CSPO, CSP and/or CSC is a plus
