Schedule: Pool/Per Diem
The Psychiatric Registered Nurse I has experience in caring for psychiatric patients.They routinely draw on learned facts and experience as well as an understanding of possible outcomes when designing a plan of care.They have learned to recognize patterns in clinical practice, and use this knowledge as they make clinical decisions.Competency in seven core areas of nursing practice has an emphasis on the individual clinical practice of the nurse.They have a beginning understanding of reflective practice.Perform any duties and/or responsibilities assigned by Manager or Supervisor for which qualified.
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.Maintains regulatory requirements, including JCAHO, Federal and State.Complies with all organizational policies regarding EMHS's Code of Conduct and ethical business practices.Practices according to the American Nurses Association's Code for Nurses and Standards of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
Must be licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse currently licensed in Maine.Must have current BLS certification.Age based competency in children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics and disability based competency for chemical dependency required.Completes I-Care Mandatory Education on a yearly basis.Attends all mandatory safety related education programs, (fire, ergonomics, universal/standard precautions, etc.).Follows safety procedures to prevent injury to self and others. Carries assigned keys and wears hospital ID badge at all times. Refrains from the abuse of chemicals.
