The Clinical Information Specialist leads and coordinates multidisciplinary build, design, configuration, testing, and the implementation of changes in electronic Health Information Systems (such as Evident, Athena, and MEDHOST EDIS.) Is involved with application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution within the electronic Health Information Systems. Must be skilled with data collection and quality analysis of the care delivered to patients. Assists with identifying and mitigating variability, fragmentation, and waste in clinical operations and processes. Ensures Clinical Practice integrates with acuity configurations. Documents real-time data points and operational processes to contribute to the design of an environment of high reliability and responsiveness for systems and resources, supporting effective patient-centered care and flow. Communicates and collaborates with Leadership to ensure outstanding customer service and assists in the development of departmental goals and objectives in accordance with electronic Health Information Systems values and strategic priorities. Performs provider and staff training as required (onboarding, software releases/patches/fixes, clinical process flows are modified, documentation changes, regulatory changes, etc.).
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)
At least three years of clinical experience required.
Registered Nurse or equivalent clinical experience required.
Certification in informatics preferred.
At least three years of working with electronic Health Information Systems is required.
Knowledge of finance metrics for productivity.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Professional interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also demonstrating the ability to work effectively as a team member and team leader.
