Preservation Management, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Accounts Receivable Specialist to assist Accounting Department. The Accounts Receivable (A/R) Specialist computes, classifies, and records financial data related to accounting receivables from residents of properties managed by Preservation Management, Inc. The A/R Specialist also assists with processing property financial transfers, wires, ACH and other account requirements. The A/R Specialist maintains daily fraud control via Positive Pay uploads and issue maintenance for all the banks implemented with that control. The A/R Specialist also processes approved requests for Resident Rental Concessions.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Post monthly rental receipts for assigned properties as requested. Operate computers programmed with PMI accounting software to record, store, and analyze information. Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding.
    • Process approved requests for Resident Rental Concessions in resident accounts within the BostonPost program;
    • Review and record resident ACH rental payments as required;
    • Help conduct audits of resident receivable accounts when appropriate; reconcile, or note and report discrepancies found in records;
    • Review and record monthly HAP payments;
    • Assist with resident data reports on an as needed basis;
    • Process resident Utility Allowance payments on the 1st of the month g. Track, manage, and clean-up uncashed Utility Allowance checks
  • Prepare property wire, ACH and account transfers as requested.
  • Administer the use of all check scanners within the company; reset passwords and add/remove users
  • Maintain daily fraud control via Positive Pay uploads and issue maintenance for all the banks implemented with that control.
  • Receive, record, and deposit receipts for properties and Preservation Management, Inc. as necessary.
  • Assist accounting staff with retrieval of A/R related audit request
  • Special projects, administrative task or assignments instructed by supervisor.


  • Candidates will possess an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 1 - 3 years accounting experience in similar organizations.
  • Experience in the use of business computer systems and software such as Microsoft Office suite; experience with on-line database systems such as BostonPost Property Manager desirable.
  • Financial experience in private sector housing or property management desirable.
