Maine Medical Center has openings for Radiology Technologists I and II for their Cardiac Cath Lab in Portland. Eligible candidates are graduates of a school of Cardiovascular Technology or school of Radiologic Technology. RTs must be ARRT certified and have a current Maine license. Tech II positions require the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification (RCIS) as well as one – two years of invasive clinical experience. Positions are eligible for a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus
These positions will utilize a combination of training, assessment and technical skills to accomplish their duties in the Cath lab.
Cath Lab Technologists are required to scrub and assist in the performance of diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic cardiac procedures. The position requires the use of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and constant evaluation of the patient’s hemodynamic status and vital signs.
The technologist is expected to produce, evaluate and calculate hemodynamic information to assist the physician in rendering medical diagnosis. The technologist will also be required to manage the image during the procedure. Work is performed with considerable independence.
The Invasive Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist will utilize a combination of training, assessment and technical skills in the accomplishment of their duties in the Cath Labs. The level I Cath Lab tech is required to scrub and assist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The position requires the use of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and constant evaluation of the patient's hemodynamic status and vital signs. The Level I invasive technologist will also be required to manage the image during the procedure. Work is performed with considerable independence. Accurate record keeping and attention to detail are essential.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Sterile technique.
- Graduate of school of Cardiovascular Technology or school of Radiologic Technology.
- RTs must be ARRT and have a current Maine license.
- Clinical experience preferred but not required.
- Strong computer skills, especially Windows.
