Description Position Summary

The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team provides IT consulting and technical support on a variety of technology solutions used by MaineHealth employees. The team is made up of 16 IT professionals with a range of backgrounds, expertise and technical skills. Solutions we support include Kronos, a cloud-based time keeping system used by MaineHealth employees. The ERP team works in partnership with business teams to analyze, design and deliver solutions that meet the needs of our Kronos end-user community of clinical and non-clinical staff.

The intern will work closely with the Kronos team learning about the application and working on a variety of projects. In addition, we will have the intern help us with a redesign on our team’s internal Sharepoint site by assessing the current state, gathering requirements, redesigning and applying the changes. There will be opportunities to interact with and learn from other members of the department based on the intern’s abilities and interests.

MIS, CS or similar technology major. Skills/behaviors that support success in this role include strong initiative, curiosity, critical thinking and analytical skills, hands-on experience developing code, an ability to plan work and deliver results, solid written and verbal communication abilities. Experience with Sharepoint will be a plus.

Interns provide administrative and project support within their department, and are valued members of each department team.

The MaineHealth Internship Program runs from June 3rd – August 9, 2019.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Student who is currently enrolled in a four-year degree program in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking.
  • Must work independently, take initiative to complete assigned projects with minimal direction, and be able to prioritize tasks within an assigned project.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the performance of duties.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other technologies as needed.
