DEPARTMENT: Consumer Banking
 
FUNCTION:
Provides excellent customer service in processing transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, selling money orders, cashiers or travelers checks; processing loan/credit card payments and savings bond requests, handling cash advances and providing customers with both direct and telephone assistance. Helps build and maintain solid customer relationships. Understands the Bank’s products and services and presents additional services as options to meet customer financial needs.
 
Transactions: 
•Answers confidential inquiries related to customer account balances, interest charges, and account activity 
•Cashes checks within assigned limits 
•Accepts loan, credit card, and other payments 
•Issues money orders, cashiers checks and travelers checks and issues or redeems savings bonds 
•Processes night deposits and may process ATM transactions 
•Determines the necessity of placing holds on items being presented for deposit 
•Conducts transactions accurately and in compliance with established Bank policies and procedures 
•Understands the Bank security policies and procedures 
•Maintains appropriate cash drawer levels 
•Maintains acceptable cash balancing record 
•Demonstrates high level of accuracy and efficiency when conducting transactions 
•Provides customer access to safe deposit boxes

•Demonstrates ability to handle routine service issues independently 
•Refers customers to the appropriate staff for more advance problem resolution 
•Assesses customer needs and delivers services or refers to other team members in accordance with Bank strategy 
•Actively promotes the Bank’s services and products, answers questions, and directs customers to appropriate areas for assistance 
•Utilizes the IMPACT process, reports, training and other sales tools to maximize sales opportunities 
•Contributes to the overall sales growth of the Bank 
•May cross train for other functions within the Teller area 
 
Compliance and Control: 
•Assists in ensuring that the Bank is in compliance with local, state and federal regulations 
 
General: 
•Interacts harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork 
•Conforms to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the Employee Handbook 
•Performs additional duties as requested 
 
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements: 
•High school diploma or equivalent 
•Excellent customer service skills 
•Previous teller and/or cash handling experience helpful 
•Demonstrated personal computer literacy 
•Strong multi tasking and communications skills 
•Ability to work with little supervision 
 
Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:
•General office environment 
•Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required. Moderate reaching, walking, sitting and standing required
