Job Responsibilities: SUMMARY

The Clinical Care Representative answers telephone calls for patients calling with clinical matters. The person in this role is expected to have exceptional customer service abilities, strong clinical judgment and decision making, and superb communications skills.


• Answer phones and assess basic, moderate and/or complex clinical patient calls in a fast paced call center environment
• Ability and willingness to provide excellent customer service to patients, InterMed colleagues and vendors
• Ability to utilize call center agent phone system
• Refill prescriptions according to standard protocol
• Provide test results according to standard protocol
• Provide patient education under provider’s direction
• Monitor telephone inquiries within EMR 
• Assess and prioritize patient needs via patient portal inquiries
• Fulfill clerical responsibilities which may include:
• Obtaining lab/x-ray reports 
• Hospital notes
• Referral information
• Completing forms/requisitions as needed
• Schedule appointments
• Provide general information for patients as needed
• Proficiency with Windows based computer applications
• Accurate transcribing skills
• Excellent typing and accurate documentation of patient encounter
• Flexibility and willingness to work as a team member
• Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Excellent professional judgment, phone skills and decision making ability
• Other responsibilities as directed by coordinator or manager

Job Qualifications: • CMA or RMA preferred
• Previous experience in a primary care or hospital setting
• Compassion and empathy
• Strong organizational skills
• Professional appearance
• At least two years of triage experience

Other Job Information (if applicable): Part time, Monday through Friday 2:00pm to 6:00pm and occasional weekends
