HIM Records Analyst I - Health Information
This position consists of administrative work involving electronic chart analysis and document coordination to ensure appropriate criteria are met and maintained in accordance with organizational and department compliance standards. Primary responsibilities include assisting customers (physicians, service care units, other departments internally and externally and HIM employees, etc.) in understanding completion requirements and the use of our electronic systems and transcription services. The HIM Records Analyst I will locate, route, track and coordinate electronic documents and deficiencies and manage courtesy copy distribution of transcribed reports. This position will utilize multiple computer systems, the telephone and facsimile resources to provide customer service and support to the Release of Information areas. Work will be performed and evaluated according to established policy and procedures and with demonstrated understanding of departmental procedures and general professional office practices. This position requires a professional working knowledge of internal and external customers and acquired knowledge of the medical record, and professional communication skills.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Graduate of high school or GED, and 1 year Medical Office experience preferred.
Ability to work independently, problem solve and prioritize with minimal supervision and positive customer service relationships and ability to manage multiple demands.
Knowledge of health information practices and procedures. Ability to operate or learn to operate multiple computer systems and software, document management system, chart tracking system and master patient index search and retrieve.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology normally acquired in a classroom setting or obtained through on the job training.
Knowledge of computer software, keyboarding, data entry and business machinery.
