Tyler Technologies has partnered exclusively with Pro Search, Inc. in search of an experienced Chief Human Resources Officer. This position will be located in Yarmouth, Maine.

The Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, compensation, benefits, organizational and performance management training and development. The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team.

Essential Functions

  1. Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of Tyler’s overall business operations objectives.
  2. Establish and implement HR initiatives that improve or maintain Tyler’s competitive position in the markets in which it operates.
  3. Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
  4. Work with the Tyler's executive management to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of Tyler.
  5. Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
  6. Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective for Tyler.
  7. Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is directly responsible for leading the Corporate HR team and indirectly responsible for the HR leaders within the five divisions. Total HR team: 37

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position regularly requires hours beyond the normal workday.


Travel as appropriate to implement strategic HR initiatives, approximately 15-20%.

Required Education and Experience

  1. A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university required, MBA or MA/MS in human resource management a plus.
  2. A minimum of 15 years of HR experience, with at least five years of executive HR experience with three to five years of international HR experience preferred.
  3. Experience in a publicly traded company preferred.
