Medical Apprenticeship Program | Earn as you Learn!

The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship is an exciting collaboration between InterMed and Southern Maine Community College. This grant-funded, accelerated program will provide you with paid, on-the-job training and mastery of MA skills learned in the classroom. Participants will work part-time in one of the physician practices while attending classes at SMCC, perform their externship hours, & prepare to take their certification exam upon completion of the program.

PREREQUISITES:

• At least 18 years of age and older
• High school diploma or GED
• Resident of Maine
• Proof of authorization to work in the U.S.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability and willingness to provide excellent customer service to patients, InterMed colleagues and vendor
• Ability to work independently and accurately
• Ability to work well in busy environment

SCHEDULE:

Part time work schedule at 20 hours per week plus required class schedule
