  • Position Summary
    • The Wellness Administrative Support Staff is responsible for Registering and scheduling recurring visits for patients of the Outpatient Wellness/Rehab Department. Disciplines served include: PT, OT, ST, Diabetes and Medical Nutrition Therapy. The process of Registering and Scheduling includes, but is not limited to: verifying patient demographics, insurance data, medical information and/or condition history, verification of appointments, times, dates and physician order accuracy and is expected to accurately document information in Meditech system, scan to Valco, and prepare patient chart for visit. At any time recurring visits are required, the Wellness Administrative Support Staff is responsible for scheduling the visits as directed by the clinician and communicating variance to the requested visit frequency to the clinician immediately. The Wellness Administrative Support Staff is responsible to keep schedules full, attend patient appointments, cancel or no-show visits as appropriate, manage recurring visit waitlist, and complete PI data. The Wellness Administrative Support Staff is responsible to ensure accuracy with Resource dictionaries and communicate errors or improvement opportunities immediately. Schedulers are required to be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks at one time. The Wellness Administrative Support Staff provides an expedient and efficient registration window and provides back up to other Wellness departmental needs such as Scheduling of new visits, chart preparation, photocopying, answering phone, verifying insurance and other tasks as deemed appropriate.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Medical terminology helpful. Meditech experience preferred. Keyboarding skills are required.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers and/or boards of directors.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
