Summary:

The role of the Service & Credit Review Coordinator includes the evaluation of existing business relationships to determine credit worthiness, appropriate credit line and payment term extensions.  The Service & Credit Review Coordinator analyzes data independently and executes decisions for credit extensions in compliance with the established authority matrix and credit policy, and will make recommendations to management for any credit extensions above their authority.  The Service & Credit Review Coordinator acts as the primary point of contact for communications with merchants and customers as they move through the various stages of credit management.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Field telephone and email inquiries from customers and merchants regarding applications and existing accounts

  • Gather and assess relevant information about the applicants’ business, business relationships, credit history and financial condition

  • Make subjective decisions, determining which businesses present an acceptable level of risk to Capital One Trade Credit either on an unsecured basis or under merchant recourse

  • Contact customers to gather necessary business and/or financial information

  • Ensure that proper documentation is provided by applicants and customers

  • Communicate decisions and/or information to customers and merchants in a timely and professional manner

  • Present alternatives to establishing unsecured credit

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a high level of service for merchants and customers

  • Meet and support ongoing department initiatives and quality and performance goals as they relate to the credit risk management functions

  • Other duties not specified yet related to the job

Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform research, analyze data and make subjective decisions

  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks

  • Knowledge of building supply industry preferred

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage numerous simultaneous projects within deadlines

  • Service-oriented mentality, with sense of urgency toward both internal and external customers 

 

Work at Home Technology Requirements:

  • A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions

  • A reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use cellular data (hot spot) 

    • Cable or fiber connections are preferred 

    • Internet service download speeds must be at least 5 mbps, with 10+ mbps preferred - check your download speed using a speed test. A sample one can be found here.  To test your home internet from your personal computer at home, type www.speedtest.net into the web browser of your personal computer. 

    • Sustained ability to maintain latency less than 250 ms in voice calls is required

  • Hard wired connectivity is preferred, any use of wireless connectivity must be Private (non-public) and password protected through WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption. If you have any questions about your encryption, please consult with your internet provider

    • A private network is password protected where you have ownership or line of site to every device on the network

  • Capital One reserves the right to request proof of internet provider, speed and service package from the associate

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 1 year of collections or customer service experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or military experience

  • At least 1 year of commercial or consumer credit experience
