The athenahealth Undergraduate Internship Program- Client Support Track in Belfast Maine is designed for seniors, (with preference to Spring 2018 grads), who are interested in joining our mission to help make health care work as it should.

Interns in the Client Support Track internship program work within the client support center. The client support center is the first point of contact and help desk for all our clients across the US. This team diagnoses complex software issues, assists with issue resolution and provides software training to our clients. Contact with clients are made through inbound phone calls and communication via our customer management portal.

Interns within the Client Support Track will receive extensive training on the athenahealth software with focus on the patient workflow. Interns will have opportunity to support clients as they use the athena software for their front desk operations. Interns will be able to expertly support our clients with scheduling, patient check in & check out, collecting copays, updating demographics and patient information such as adding insurance information.

Though the departments and office locations interns work in vary, the staples of the athena Internship experience are consistent for all:
  • Seminar Series: interns meet and learn from leaders across the company for a macro-level view of what makes athena tick

  • Enrollment in a college-level program, with preference for seniors
  • Ability to commit to 20 hours per week (SCHEDULE) in the Belfast, Maine office
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely
  • Ability to quickly gain understanding into team processes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced, fun, and often demanding environment
