  • Position Summary

    • Pharmacy Technicians are essential members of the pharmacy team at Maine Medical Center, providing support for multiple facets of the pharmacy, including exceptional customer service. The Advanced Central/Decentralized Pharmacy Technician is a proficient pharmacy technician in all core functions of the pharmacy as well as specialized areas such as Operating Rooms and Vault. An Advanced Central/Decentralized Pharmacy Tech assists the pharmacist by preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory and pertinent patient records. An Advanced Central/Decentralized Pharmacy Technician also identifies opportunities for improvement in work processes and actively contributes to the implementation of improvement efforts. Additionally, Advanced Central/Decentralized Pharmacy Technician will perform other related and assigned duties.

  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    • Education: High school diploma or GED certificate preferred. Associates Degree is preferred.

    • License/Certifications: Currently licensed as a pharmacy technician in the State of Maine or currently eligible consistent with the current State of Maine Board of Pharmacy requirements. CPHT is required or obtained within one year of hire.

    • Experience: Greater than one (1) year of experience as a pharmacy technician healthcare or related experience. New hires with greater than 1 year experience will have 6 months to meet Advanced Central/Decentralized Pharmacy Tech essential functions.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

    • Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of all patients.
